About UpDocAt UpDoc, we are building the first clinically validated, physician-supervised AI agent that manages chronic diseases. We are an early-stage startup founded by Stanford physicians. We are seeking a talented and motivated frontend engineer to join our team and play a key role in helping build our patient mobile app and physician facing front ends. This is a fully remote position.
Who You Are
You’re a frontend engineer with strong TypeScript and Svelte experience, comfortable building modern web applications. You know SvelteKit, Tailwind, and the frontend ecosystem well, and you’re eager to bring that expertise to patient and provider apps that span EHR systems and Android/iOS PWAs. Exposure to Capacitor, Kotlin, or Swift is a plus. You care about UX, reliability, and the impact your work can have on healthcare.
What You'll Do
- Help build and maintain patient and provider-facing applications using SvelteKit, Tailwind, and TypeScriptDevelop progressive web applications that run across Android and iOSExtend PWAs with Kotlin and Swift native code plugins to access local device APIsImplement integrations with health data sources, including CGMs and Apple HealthKitCollaborate with backend engineers to design and consume APIs, ensuring reliable and secure data flowsWork closely with designers to translate prototypes into accessible, performant interfacesPartner with clinical experts to validate functionality and ensure patient safetyWhat You’ll Need4+ years of experience with Typescript and web development4+ years working with Svelte or similar component-based frameworksSolid proficiency in Svelte and SveltekitStrong proficiency in Tailwind CSSFamiliarity with CapacitorJSFamiliarity with Kotlin and SwiftHighly DesiredPast experience with development for EHR systemsUnderstanding of accessibility standards and best practicesExperience with testing frameworks and methodologiesFamiliarity with UX design principles and design thinkingPrevious experience in a startup environmentExperience with healthcare industry standards, such as FHIR, and regulations, including HIPAA and SOC 2
